As much as I love teaching, what I love even more is teaching about teaching! I am passionate about helping Muslim teachers create meaningful, engaging, and productive learning experiences for students, utilizing effective teaching practices as well as inspiration from the Quran and Sunnah.
Reach & Teach is my endeavor to help strengthen and empower K-12 teachers of Islamic schools/education programs, as well as any Muslim teachers, with knowledge, skills, and strategies that can help them grow in their ability to positively and effectively connect with and teach their students. Reach & Teach is not only about providing professional development in best teaching practices but also incorporating concepts and strategies inspired by teachings and examples from the Quran and Sunnah when applicable.
The best teacher of all time was Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). However, he did not become a messenger, or teacher, until he reached the age of 40. Prophet Muhammad had to reach the people around him, building trust, strengthening relationships, and establishing a positive reputation, before he could begin to teach them as the Messenger.
This is the premise of Reach & Teach: You need to reach students - their hearts, their minds - to effectively teach them.
All services can be requested officially through a school/program or privately for independent professional development. All services can be offered in person or virtually. (Note: I am based in Kansas City.)
As its name implies, the two themes for this program are REACHING and TEACHING, and each theme is an umbrella for multiple topics. You may choose the topic(s) that you would like professional development services in. (Note: Different topics vary in their scope; some can be combined, while others need their own focused time. This will be determined once we discuss your professional development needs.)
